Prof. Dr. Dr. Ulrich Hoppe elected Secretary-General of the European Federation of Audiology Societies (EFAS)

At the 17th Congress of the European Federation of Audiology Societies (EFAS), which took place in Vienna from 14 to 17 May 2025, Prof. Dr. Dr. Ulrich Hoppe, Head of Audiology and the Cochlear Implant Centre CICERO of the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic – Head and Neck Surgery (Director: Prof. Dr. Sarina Müller) at the University Hospital Erlangen, was elected Secretary-General to the EFAS Board of Directors. Prof. Hoppe will thus assume a central leadership role in one of the most important audiological societies in Europe until 2027.

Founded in 1992, EFAS is the European umbrella organization of all national audiology societies with members from 36 countries. Its aim is to promote and develop scientific and clinical exchange in the field of audiology. It also represents European audiology in international committees and organizations.

“The appointment of Prof. Hoppe as Secretary General is not only a recognition of his achievements, but also underlines the high international esteem for audiological research and care at the University Hospital Erlangen,” said a delighted Clinic Director Prof. Müller.
