On September 1, 2024, the Institute of Electrical Smart City Systems (ESCS), directed by ESI-member  Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norman Franchi, and the Institute of Electrical Engineering (LTE), provisionally led by ESI-Member Prof. Dr.-Ing. Georg Fischer (previously headed by ESI-Member Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. habil. Robert Weigel), merged to form the new Institute of Intelligent Electronics and Systems (LITES). LITES has about 90 staff members.

The joint forces and close collaboration of both teams in the newly formed institute, LITES, enhance our collective expertise in electronics, IC design, communications, radar, and sensing technologies, paving the way for groundbreaking advancements.

You will find more information at LITES’ Web pages.
