Here, a plethora of different particle processes, relevant in industries such as food, pharmaceutical, or petrochemical, are researched in the context of automatic control. Innovative modeling and control approaches are investigated not only to increase product quality, but also energy and resource efficiency. With the first funding period successfully ending this year, the upcoming second funding period will focus on the expansion to multi step processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of an FAU-based research group focusing on the closed-loop control of a (melt) emulsification plant, the Chair of Automatic Control (ESI-Member Prof. Dr.-Ing. Knut Graichen) is closely cooperating with the Institute of Interfaces and Particle Technology and the Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics.
