The Competence Center for Interdisciplinary Science Reflection (ZIWIS) at Friedrich-Alexander-Universit\u00e4t Erlangen-N\u00fcrnberg in cooperation with the Deutsches Museum N\u00fcrnberg organized an exciting panel discussion on the topic of “AI in human form: the fascination of humanoid robots”. The event, in which ESI member Prof. J\u00f6rg Franke also took part as a guest, was a great success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The discussion was a complete success: all seats were fully booked, more than 50 participants tuned in online and the event recorded over 1,400 views on YouTube. The discussion was moderated by Melanie Saverimuthu, curator of the “Work & Everyday Life” exhibition at the Zukunftsmuseum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof. J\u00f6rg Franke, Prof. Vincent C. M\u00fcller and Prof. Janina Loh contributed their expertise and discussed various aspects of the topic. The topics ranged from the practical use of humanoid robots in production to ethical and social issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was rounded off with stimulating questions from the offline and online audience, which focused on hopes and fears in connection with AI and robots as well as the capabilities of humans and machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
